THE PROTEAN VOICE Intensive Workshop – finding Form in Text and Song with Kevin Crawford and Caroline Boersma (Cellist)

Content In 2025 the Protean Voice workshop takes a step forward towards offering you tools to integrate into your own professional field: be you performer, teacher, therapist, manager…The thrust of the workshop remains the protean nature of the voice: its capacity to reveal to us a multiplicity of sounds, that evoke emotion, that summon up character, that drive us to communicate. A wealth of expression that can colour experience and inform us in so many ways.
But how can we transfer the alchemy of a workshop situation into our personal and professional practice? What pathways might such a transfer take and how can we pick out the strands that will give us a basis for re-connecting with such transformative power? These are just some of the questions we want to share with you in this workshop.The workshop will include:
- Daily warm-up sequences designed to open up body, voice and spirit
- Solo and group vocal research, that extends range and elasticity
- The challenge of text work: how to expand interpretation
- The dynamic flow of musical imagination
- Reflection in practice on points of departure, pathways and outcomes in our creative work
Caroline Boersma brings her finely tuned ear to this work, helping us to balance music and muscle.
NOTE: We are looking for a small group of students (6-10) who have some experience in voicework and want to take their practice further. As some of the participants will be coming from outside Italy we would ask that you confirm participation before 30th May latest. A deposit will then be requested to secure your place. Contenuto: Nel 2025, il workshop Voce da Proteo fa un passo in avanti offrendo strumenti da integrare nel proprio campo professionale: che tu sia un performer, insegnante, terapeuta, manager…La spinta del workshop rimane la natura proteica della voce: la sua capacità di rivelarci una molteplicità di suoni, che evocano emozioni, che suscitano carattere e che ci spingono a comunicare. Una ricchezza di espressione che può colorare l’esperienza e fornirci innumerevoli insegnamenti.
Ma come possiamo trasferire l’alchimia del momento-workshop nella nostra vita personale e professionale? Quali percorsi potrebbero seguire un tale trasferimento? e come possiamo individuare quei fili che ci daranno una base per riconnetterci con tale potere trasformativo? Queste sono solo alcune delle domande che desideriamo condividere con te in questo workshop.
Il workshop includerà:
• Riscaldamento quotidiano per attivare corpo, voce e spirito
• Ricerca vocale sia individuale che di gruppo, per ampliare gamma e elasticità
• Il testo come una sfida: come ampliare l’interpretazione
• Il flusso dinamico dell’immaginazione musicale
• Riflessione pratica sui punti di partenza, percorsi e risultati nel nostro lavoro creativo.
Caroline Boersma, violoncellista, porta il suo orecchio finemente sintonizzato in questo lavoro, ispirandoci ad un equilibrio fra musica e muscoli.
NOTA: Stiamo cercando un piccolo gruppo di studenti (6-10) che abbiano qualche esperienza nel lavoro vocale e vogliano approfondire la loro pratica. Poiché alcuni partecipanti arriveranno da fuori Italia, chiediamo di confermare la partecipazione entro e non oltre il 30 maggio 2025. Successivamente, verrà richiesto un acconto per garantire il posto.

Atelier Intensif: LA VOIX PROTÉIFORME – Trouver la Forme dans le Texte et la Chanson avec Kevin Crawford et Caroline Boersma (Violoncelliste)

Contenu: En 2025, l’atelier Protean Voice franchit une nouvelle étape en vous offrant des outils à intégrer dans votre propre domaine professionnel : que vous soyez interprète, enseignant, thérapeute, manager…L’essence de l’atelier demeure la nature protéiforme de la voix : sa capacité à nous révéler une multiplicité de sons, à éveiller l’émotion, à invoquer le personnage, à nous pousser à communiquer. Une richesse d’expression qui peut colorer l’expérience et nous informer de multiples manières. Mais comment transposer l’alchimie d’un atelier dans notre pratique personnelle et professionnelle ? Quels chemins une telle transmission peut-elle emprunter et comment discerner les éléments clés qui nous permettront de nous reconnecter à cette puissance transformatrice ? Ce sont quelques-unes des questions que nous souhaitons partager avec vous lors de cet atelier.
L’atelier comprendra :
- Des séquences d’échauffement quotidiennes conçues pour ouvrir le corps, la voix et l’esprit
- Une recherche vocale en solo et en groupe, visant à étendre la tessiture et l’élasticité
- Le défi du travail du texte : comment approfondir l’interprétation
- Le flux dynamique de l’imaginaire musical
- Une réflexion en pratique sur les points de départ, les chemins et les résultats de notre travail créatif
Caroline Boersma, violoncelliste, apportera son oreille aiguisée à ce travail, nous aidant à équilibrer musique et mouvement.
NOTE : Nous recherchons un petit groupe de participants (6 à 10) ayant déjà une expérience du travail vocal et souhaitant approfondir leur pratique.
